Summer is officially over, even though it's still a million degrees and I'm currently sweating like no other, but to celebrate I'm finally posting my labor day weekend. I spent the three day weekend at Lake Almanor and had a blast!
I'm a little biased but California is the most beautiful state! Side note I felt like Luke from Gilmore girls wearing a flannel and backwards cap, he wears the look slightly better. You can find this hat here: www.brandymelvilleusa.com/accessories/hats-caps/katherine-california-cap-072.html
Feeling like a melon bucks!

I think everyone and their mother probably has a donut tube at this point (Target I'm looking at you) but I just couldn't resist getting one, or two, as well.
So long to a wonderful summer filled with awkward tan lines, eating popsicles, and constantly being a literal hot mess.
I fully admit that I, like so many others, might just be a tad obsessed with Disney and everything they do so I'm always looking for an excuse to take a trip to Disneyland. So with the diamond celebration going on I definitely used that as an excuse to visit the happiest place on earth and as expected it was pure magic!
I've always thought the Disneyland castle was beautiful but decked out in diamond bling really brought it to the next level.
Yes this was a kids hat and yes I managed to fit my large head into it so all in all a huge success! The diamond celebration merchandise was too cute for me to handle!
If you go to Disneyland and don't take a picture in front of the small world wall did you even really go? But for real this makes the perfect backdrop for taking fun photos!
I've ALWAYS wondered why Disney doesn't make donut minnie ears to sell in the park but since they don't I took matters in my own hands and made my own. Not pictured is the large amount of hot glue that went into these babies. While making my own was fun, albeit harder than I thought, there are also plenty of crafty and talented people on Etsy who make some very cute ones you can purchase!
The cutest little minnie rice crispy treat that tasted just as good as it looks!
Note to self don't go on splash mountain and then decide to take pictures. I'm not ashamed to admit that I tired to use a straw to recurl my hair- it didn't quite work out unfortunately.
And that's a wrap on some very magical visits! I'm sure I'll be back soon because I just can't seem to keep myself away.
I've been working hard to compile a list of all the amazing murals I found in the L.A area and more importantly where exactly they are located so you can find these beauties for yourself. So without further ado, enjoy!
My Heart Will Go On:
Los Feliz Heart Mural- located at the intersection of Los Feliz Blvd. and Brunswick Ave.
Cake it til you Make It:
West Hollywood Cake Wall (aka my very favorite wall) - located in the alley parallel to Santa Monica Blvd. behind the bar "Trunks"
It's a Buddha-ful Day:
Venice Buddha Wall- located on Abbott Kinney Blvd. and Santa Clara St.
Also located on Abbott Kinney Blvd.
Geometric Wave Wall
Love it or Leaf It:
Leaf Wall- located on Abbott Kinney Blvd.
Infamous Pink Wall- located at Paul Smith at 8221 Melrose Ave.
Hit me with your Best Pot:
Tea Wall- located at "Teapop" tea shop at 5050 Vineland Ave.
Dibs on Dots:
Also located alongside the teapot wall. I highly recommend checking out Teapop and getting a cup of tea while visiting their lovely wall art!
And that's a wrap! I hope you go and visit these beautiful murals and be sure to use the tag #maudsquadwallcrawl on instagram to see all the colorful places I find and also so I can see your pictures as well!

First Stop: Hollywood Blvd.
Hollywood Blvd. is definitely one of the more touristy things to do in the L.A area but if you've never been it is worth it to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, get a good view of the Hollywood sign, and grab some lunch!
Next stop: Beverly Hills
Safe to say the only thing I bought on rodeo drive was ice cream, I highly recommend the red velvet from Sprinkles Cupcakes! In addition after a long hot day it was relaxing to take a drive in the neighborhoods and look at all the swanky homes.
Next stop: American Horror Story House
For anyone who is a fan of AHS and in particular the first season you know it revolves around the "muder house." This is a real house in a regular neighborhood so stopping by to get a peak was super eerie. I was bummed that there's a fence around it but I'm sure the owners have had a lot of crazy AHS fans stopping by!
Next Stop: Santa Monica Pier
Our last day was spent taking advantage of the warm weather and heading to the beach.
