God Jul och Gott Nytt År! Translation: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It is also just about all the Swedish I know. I am super proud to be half Swedish on my mom's side and around Decemeber time this increases even more with the celebration of Santa Lucia.
Santa Lucia in short is a celebration of light. Traditionally the eldest daughter dresses as Lucia in a white gown and leafy crown with candles and carries a tray of bread and cookies while singing Swedish carols. When I say a crown of candles I really do mean that they light those babies up on top of a young girls head, yikes! I enjoy not burning my hair so in my family we would wear battery operated candles. That crown has since been lost so I have a new tradition where I make the Lucia crown each year. This year I bought garland from Michaels and sewed the ends together. I wore a seperate headband beneath with the candles tucked in. The only problem was that the garland was so big it pretty much covered the candles, better luck next year!
Last years crown was made of greenary I stripped from branches of trees in my yard and were sewn into a headband. Sadly it wasn't sturdy enough for candles.
But really one of the very best parts is all the Swedish food! You haven't lived until you've had some genuine Swedish meatballs. Another favorite is Krem, which is a grape tapiocca pudding but make sure to top it with whip cream! You can find my family recipe below.
Sorry for all the scribbles but young me was quite the little artist, clearly the next Picasso! If you have trouble reading this copy I've translated below:
2 1/2 cups of grape juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup quick cooking tapioca
1 tbsp lemon juice
Finding a Dala horse, pictured below, in my house around Christmas is about as easy as finding the floor. We have them EVERYWHERE in a myriad of colors.
Santa Lucia is probably one of the most relaxed and beautiful celebrations we have all year. There is no gift exchanges as it really is just about spending time with family, listening to music, and eating some darn good food! I highly recommend celebrating your own version of Lucia with your family, Swedish or not. It is bound to be a fun and tasty night.
Tis the season (finally!) for ugly Christmas sweaters but I don't think they're ugly...like at all... in fact I'd go as far as to use words like beautiful and glorious to describe the vast array of sweaters to choose from. What's not the love?! They're festive, SUPER comfy, and so very punny.
I received this delightful pizza themed beauty as a Christmas present last year and let me tell you I was THRILLED! There may or may not have even been some tears involved. The Betsey Johnson pizza purse was also a gift from last year that left me feeling all kinds of emotions. It is actually a wristlet that I made into crossbody by adding a strap from another purse to the zipper and wrislet hook.
P.S I've linked where to find this same sweater I'm wearing, as well as others, below.
So for the pizza enthusiasts in your life or perhaps even yourself I've compiled a very merry Crustmas gift guide.
A Crustmas Gift Guide
What says friendship more than pizza?! Now your friends and family can always carry around a "pizza" your heart wherever they go ;)
And the grand finale for all these pizza goodies is to wrap it all up in some pizza paper! In conclusion I really love pizza and hopefully there's other people out there who understand and got some inspiration!
Todays outfit was really just me subconciously trying to show a little Hufflepuff pride. I have a love/hate relationship with this sweater, some days I feel like a bee, but today I felt like I could defintely be a Hogwarts student.
And now I am going to admit one of my deepest, darkest secets...those are fake glasses from Halloween. Yup, I fully admit that I put those glasses on for the picture because I was feeling some mad Harry Potter vibes but in the interest of full disclosure they're useless.

This is a super short post but I'm gearing up for some holiday themed ones coming to the blog very soon, so get ready!
It's been a while since my last post since October flew by but I'm back and excited to share some fall fashions! To be honest I've been thinking about Christmas non-stop (raise your hand if you guilty of premature Christmas decorating) but fall is such a beautiful time of year that you've got to give it some love. First up I had to share this perfect dress for fall from a store I recently discovered (check it out at http://www.roolee.com). This dress honestly feels like peach fuzz it is so soft and loose and just all around so comfortable.
Major bonus points for being twirl proof
AND THERE ARE POCKETS!
In keeping with the fall vibe I tried out a lipstick shade called "Pumpkin" that does NOT make your teeth looking yellow as I feared (link at bottom) and is the perfect fall color.
I've also been really feeling braids lately but turns out I'm not so great at them no matter how many youtube tutorials I watch so this hairstyle will have to suffice. It's literally the easiest thing to do- take two braids and then bobby pin them up and that's it! For extra texture I recommend putting you hair in four twisted buns the night before and then braiding in the morning.
Until next time!
Dress (sold out) BUT her nearly identical sister is linked below
Lipstick: Kylie lip kit in "Pumpkin"

It hasn't been all that long since my last Disneyland visit but when two of my favorite things are combined, Disney and Halloween, I couldn't resist a quick one day visit.
It was a jammed pack day trying to fit in everything but luckily I wore the softest and most comfortable dress which you can purchase from Roolee (link at bottom).
If Disney sold these pumpkins in their shops I would have been so broke by the end of this day.
I highly recommend the cream cheese filled pretzel, it's a life changer!
And that's a wrap on the happiest, most photogenic, place on Earth!

Summer is officially over, even though it's still a million degrees and I'm currently sweating like no other, but to celebrate I'm finally posting my labor day weekend. I spent the three day weekend at Lake Almanor and had a blast!
I'm a little biased but California is the most beautiful state! Side note I felt like Luke from Gilmore girls wearing a flannel and backwards cap, he wears the look slightly better. You can find this hat here: www.brandymelvilleusa.com/accessories/hats-caps/katherine-california-cap-072.html
Feeling like a melon bucks!

I think everyone and their mother probably has a donut tube at this point (Target I'm looking at you) but I just couldn't resist getting one, or two, as well.
So long to a wonderful summer filled with awkward tan lines, eating popsicles, and constantly being a literal hot mess.
I fully admit that I, like so many others, might just be a tad obsessed with Disney and everything they do so I'm always looking for an excuse to take a trip to Disneyland. So with the diamond celebration going on I definitely used that as an excuse to visit the happiest place on earth and as expected it was pure magic!
I've always thought the Disneyland castle was beautiful but decked out in diamond bling really brought it to the next level.
Yes this was a kids hat and yes I managed to fit my large head into it so all in all a huge success! The diamond celebration merchandise was too cute for me to handle!
If you go to Disneyland and don't take a picture in front of the small world wall did you even really go? But for real this makes the perfect backdrop for taking fun photos!
I've ALWAYS wondered why Disney doesn't make donut minnie ears to sell in the park but since they don't I took matters in my own hands and made my own. Not pictured is the large amount of hot glue that went into these babies. While making my own was fun, albeit harder than I thought, there are also plenty of crafty and talented people on Etsy who make some very cute ones you can purchase!
The cutest little minnie rice crispy treat that tasted just as good as it looks!
Note to self don't go on splash mountain and then decide to take pictures. I'm not ashamed to admit that I tired to use a straw to recurl my hair- it didn't quite work out unfortunately.
And that's a wrap on some very magical visits! I'm sure I'll be back soon because I just can't seem to keep myself away.
I've been working hard to compile a list of all the amazing murals I found in the L.A area and more importantly where exactly they are located so you can find these beauties for yourself. So without further ado, enjoy!
My Heart Will Go On:
Los Feliz Heart Mural- located at the intersection of Los Feliz Blvd. and Brunswick Ave.
Cake it til you Make It:
West Hollywood Cake Wall (aka my very favorite wall) - located in the alley parallel to Santa Monica Blvd. behind the bar "Trunks"
It's a Buddha-ful Day:
Venice Buddha Wall- located on Abbott Kinney Blvd. and Santa Clara St.
Also located on Abbott Kinney Blvd.
Geometric Wave Wall
Love it or Leaf It:

Hit me with your Best Pot:

First Stop: Hollywood Blvd.
Hollywood Blvd. is definitely one of the more touristy things to do in the L.A area but if you've never been it is worth it to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, get a good view of the Hollywood sign, and grab some lunch!
Next stop: Beverly Hills
Safe to say the only thing I bought on rodeo drive was ice cream, I highly recommend the red velvet from Sprinkles Cupcakes! In addition after a long hot day it was relaxing to take a drive in the neighborhoods and look at all the swanky homes.
Next stop: American Horror Story House
For anyone who is a fan of AHS and in particular the first season you know it revolves around the "muder house." This is a real house in a regular neighborhood so stopping by to get a peak was super eerie. I was bummed that there's a fence around it but I'm sure the owners have had a lot of crazy AHS fans stopping by!
Next Stop: Santa Monica Pier
Our last day was spent taking advantage of the warm weather and heading to the beach.
Betsey Johnson Take 50 Cosmetic Case (link below)
If you are a fan of getting fresh fruit than U-pick is the option for you! I've always wanted to go strawberry picking and the Swanton Berry Farm near Santa Cruz, CA made all my dreams come true! The farm itself is beautiful but very windy and the fruit is delicious and cost efficient.
